Product Description

The NV-SiAC2080 series consists of 100% active, linear, methacryloxypropyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane fluids available in various molecular weight grades. Functioning as high-performance reactive silicone oligomers/macro-monomers, these fluids feature highly specific methacryloxy functional groups at both chain ends.

Compared to standard acrylates, the methacrylate termination offers lower skin irritation, reduced odor, lower curing shrinkage, and enhanced polymer matrix glass transition temperature (Tg). It copolymerizes rapidly via free-radical mechanisms under UV/EB radiation or thermal initiators, embedding permanent silicone traits (slip, flexibility, weatherability) into the cured network.

Key Benefits & Features

Free-Radical UV/EB/Thermal Curing: Readily cures under UV/EB radiation with free-radical photoinitiators, or thermally using organic peroxides/azo compounds.

Low Curing Shrinkage & High Adhesion: The methacryloxy group copolymerizes with less volume shrinkage than acrylic equivalents, significantly increasing adhesion to challenging substrates like metals, glass, and engineering plastics.

Non-Migrating, Durable Performance: Dual-end reactive bonding locks the silicone segment permanently into the host polymer binder, ensuring long-lasting slip and hydrophobic properties without oil bleeding or leaching.

Outstanding Surface Mechanicals: Effectively lowers the coefficient of friction (COF), delivering exceptional anti-scratch, anti-marring, anti-blocking, and soft-touch properties.

Toughening & Impact Modification: The flexible siloxane core acts as an internal elastomer block, providing excellent low-temperature flexibility, thermal shock resistance, and vibration dampening.

Applications

Specialty UV/Thermal Adhesives & Sealants: Widely used in electronics encapsulation, optical adhesives (LOCA), and structural bonding where low shrinkage, moisture resistance, and dielectrics are critical.

UV Coatings & Overprint Varnishes (OPVs): Functions as a copolymerizable additive in industrial wood topcoats, plastic coatings, and screen-printing inks to optimize scratch resistance and anti-graffiti behavior.

3D Printing (Stereolithography/SLA/DLP) Resins: Used as a modifying resin to reduce the brittleness of photopolymer parts, improve print resolution (by suppressing shrinkage), and add mold-release properties to dental or engineering resins.

Dental Materials & Medical Polymers: Selected for high-end biomedical or dental applications due to its lower toxicity and high cross-linking safety profile compared to acrylates.

Application Guide

Grade Selection:

NV-SiAC2090-4K (Low-Mid Viscosity):

Offers the highest reactive group density in this series, ensuring faster cure response and better integration into tight polymer networks.

Ideal for thin-film UV coatings and electronic adhesives where balanced slip and high bonding strength are required.

NV-SiAC2090-6K (Medium Viscosity):

The "all-rounder" grade that provides an optimal balance between surface lubricity and formulation compatibility.

Recommended for overprint varnishes (OPV) and screen-printing inks to achieve excellent mar resistance without compromising recoatability.

NV-SiAC2090-9K (High Viscosity):

Features the longest silicone backbone, delivering maximum surface slip (lowest COF), superior anti-blocking, and exceptional release properties.

Specifically designed for high-end release coatings, permanent mold-release applications, and as an internal soft segment for toughening brittle UV-curable resins.

Recommended Dosage:

As a performance additive: Typically 0.5%–5%wt of the total recipe.

As a main co-oligomer/matrix resin: 10%–40%wt depending on flexibility targets.

Formulation Synergy: Highly compatible with radical-curable monomers (e.g., MMA, IBMA, HDDA, TMPTA) and photoinitiators like 1173, TPO, or 819.

Handling & Precautions

Light Sensitivity: This product is sensitive to ambient UV and visible light. Store and handle in opaque or light-blocking containers to avoid premature gelation.

Ventilation: Use under cross-ventilation or local exhaust hoods. Do not breathe in generated vapors or mists.

Personal Safety: Wear nitrile gloves, safety goggles, and protective apparel. Wash with plenty of soap and water immediately if skin contact occurs.

OXYGEN PROTECTION REQUIRED: Do NOT blanket or purge this product with Nitrogen or other inert gases. The stabilizers/inhibitors in methacrylate resins rely on trace dissolved oxygen to remain active and prevent spontaneous hazardous polymerization.

Package:

25KGS, 190kg-200kg/drum

Storage

Storage Condition: Keep in original, tightly sealed, light-proof containers in a dry, dark, and well-ventilated warehouse.

Temperature Control: Store strictly between 5℃ and 30℃. Keep far away from direct sunlight, thermal sources, open flames, and strong free-radical initiators (peroxides).

Shelf Life: 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored properly in its original, unopened packaging.
