Product name:Fluorosilicone Defoaming & Air Release Agent

Product code: NV-DF 9052/DF9053

Active Ingredient: Poly[methyl(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)siloxane-co-dimethylsiloxane] (Random and Block Copolymer)

CAS No.: 115361-68-7

Product Description

NV-DF 9052 and NV-DF 9053 are high-performance fluorosilicone copolymer Defoamers and air release additives designed specifically for solvent-borne coatings, industrial baking finishes, and reactive polyurethane systems. By copolymerizing trifluoropropyl methyl siloxane with dimethylsiloxane, these grades achieve an ideal balance between ultra-low surface tension and high organic system compatibility. They excel at eliminating micro-bubbles (such as CO2 generated in 2K PU reactions), promoting rapid air release during dip/curtain coating baking, and preventing film surface defects like fisheyes, pinholes, and craters.

Key Benefits & Features

CO2 Bubble Elimination: Outstanding efficiency in eliminating CO2 micro-bubbles formed during two-component polyurethane (2K PU) reactions.

Superior Air Release in Baking Systems: Rapidly releases entrained air bubbles during manufacturing, stirring, dip coating, and curtain coating baking processes.

Enhanced Film Appearance: Excellent system compatibility prevents coating defects such as fisheyes, pinholes, and craters.

Broad Coating Compatibility: Suitable for acrylic, polyurethane, alkyd, epoxy, nitrocellulose, and UV-curing solvent-borne formulations.

Ultra-Low Dosage Requirements: Delivers powerful defoaming and air release at addition levels of just 10 to 70 ppm.

Applications

Two-Component Polyurethane Systems (2K PU): Rapid removal of CO2 gas bubbles formed during curing.

Industrial Coatings & Paints: Suitable for selected solvent-borne acrylic, alkyd, epoxy, nitrocellulose and UV-curable coating systems, providing effective foam control with good formulation compatibility.

Baking & Immersion Systems: Suitable for baking enamels and dip-coating systems where effective foam control is required at elevated processing and curing temperatures.

Solvent-Based Ink Systems: Suitable for selected gravure and flexographic ink systems, providing controlled foam reduction while maintaining good surface appearance and print quality when properly dosed.

Adhesive & Sealant Systems: Defoaming agent for selected solvent-based and solvent-free adhesives, sealants, and potting compounds.

High-Temperature Process Oils: Suitable for selected high-temperature process oils, chain oils and heat-transfer fluids where persistent foam control is required. Compatibility should be evaluated under actual operating conditions.

Application Guide

Recommended Dosage:100 to 5000 ppm (0.01–0.5%) based on total formulation weight. Optimal dosage should be determined through bench trials.

Stage of Addition: Can be added at any manufacturing stage (grind or let-down phase).

Pre-dilution (Recommended): Pre-dilute to 10–25% in cyclohexanone, aromatic hydrocarbons (e.g., xylene, toluene), or ketone-based solvents. Avoid alcohol-based solvents for pre-dilution.

Handling Dilutions: Pre-diluted solutions are stable for short-term use. If stored, agitate thoroughly before use. Solutions prepared with incompatible solvents may show haze or precipitation; in such cases, use immediately.

Handling & Precautions

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (safety goggles, protective gloves).

Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, flush immediately with plenty of water.

Avoid inhalation of solvent vapors during the dilution step.

Storage & Packaging:

Packaging Options: Available in 5 KG, 25 KG, and 250 KG plastic drums.

Storage Conditions: Store in tightly sealed, airproof containers in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated location. Keep away from direct sunlight, heat, open flames, strong acids, alkalis, and oxidizing agents.

Transport: Classified and transported as non-dangerous goods.

Shelf Life: 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored in unopened, original containers under recommended conditions.
