Product name:Defoamer for Waterborne Coatings and Inks

Product code: NV-DF 9047

Chemical Characterization: Polyether and modified polysiloxane copolymer emulsion.

Product Description

NV-DF9047 is a high-performance copolymer emulsion based on special polyether and modified polysiloxane. It is designed for waterborne coating and ink formulations and provides effective foam control and deaeration with good compatibility.

NV-DF9047 is particularly suitable for demanding applications such as airless spraying, waterborne epoxy coatings, printing inks and varnishes, leather finishes, wood and furniture coatings, high-solid-content clear coatings, industrial coatings, and architectural coatings.

It effectively helps prevent and eliminate foam and micro-bubbles generated during formulation, dispersion, and application processes while minimizing the risk of surface defects.

Typical propertes:

Note: The values listed below represent typical physical properties and are not intended for use in preparing specifications. Custom modifications can be arranged upon technical request.

Appearance: Milky white to light yellow emulsion

Viscosity (at 25℃): 100–1000 mPa.s

pH Value (Direct): 5.0–9.0

Active Polymer Content (wt%): 25% ± 1%

Ionic Character: Non-ionic

System Compatibility: Pure acrylics, styrene-acrylics, vinyl/EVA emulsions, PUDs, waterborne epoxies, and resin hybrids

Key Benefits & Features

Effective Foam Control: Provides excellent defoaming performance against foam and micro-bubbles in waterborne formulations.

Good Compatibility: Offers good compatibility with a wide range of waterborne resin and binder systems while minimizing the risk of surface defects.

Spray Application: Particularly suitable for airless spraying and other spray application processes where effective air release is required.

Broad Application Range: Suitable for acrylic, styrene-acrylic, vinyl/EVA, polyurethane dispersion, waterborne epoxy, and resin hybrid systems.

Flexible Incorporation: Can be added in the supplied form during either the grinding stage or the paint mixing/let-down stage.

Applications

NV-DF9047 is suitable for a wide range of waterborne coating and ink systems, including:

High-Solid-Content Clear Coatings: Clear coatings and varnishes with high solid content.

Wood & Furniture Coatings: Waterborne coatings for wood and furniture applications.

Industrial Coatings: Waterborne industrial coating systems.

Architectural Coatings: Waterborne architectural and decorative coatings.

Waterborne Epoxy Coatings: Suitable for waterborne epoxy formulations.

Printing Inks & Varnishes: Waterborne printing inks and varnishes.

Leather Finishes: Waterborne leather finishing systems.

Application Guide

Recommended Dosage

The recommended dosage is based on the product as supplied and calculated on total formulation weight:

Application Recommended Dosage

High-Solid-Content Transparent Coatings: 0.5–3.0%

Wood & Furniture Coatings / Industrial Coatings:0.2–1.5%

Leather Finishes / Architectural Coatings: 0.2–1.0%

Printing Inks & Varnishes: 0.2–1.0%

The optimum dosage should be determined by laboratory testing for each specific formulation.

Processing & Incorporation

Mixing Before Use: Mix thoroughly before use.

Direct Addition: It is recommended to add NV-DF9047 in its supplied form.

Stage of Addition: The product can be incorporated during either the grinding stage or the paint mixing/let-down stage.

Formulation Testing: Long-term defoaming performance depends on the specific formulation and resin system. Testing under different formulation and application conditions is recommended, particularly under varying humidity conditions.

Handling & Precautions

Because this product is an emulsion, mild layer separation may happen over long storage times. This does not alter quality; mix thoroughly using mild agitation prior to each use to ensure absolute product homogeneity.

Storage:

Temperature Range: Keep stored in original sealed drums between 5℃ and 35℃.Prevent freezing and protect from intense direct solar heating.

Shelf Life: The standard factory shelf life is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of manufacture when properly sealed and stored.
