Product name:Silicone Defoamer for Cutting Fluids & Coolants

Product code: NV-DF 9103

Chemical Characterization:Organo-Silicone Emulsion Compound

Product Description

NV-DF9103 is a silicone defoamer emulsion designed for foam control in cutting fluids, antifreeze fluids and coolant systems. It provides effective and durable foam control at low addition levels and is particularly suitable for incorporation into metalworking fluid formulations.

NV-DF9103 is designed to provide good storage stability and shear stability during normal processing and circulation. It also has a low impact on the visual transparency of suitable formulations.

The product can be used in a variety of aqueous metalworking and cooling systems where effective and persistent foam control is required.

Typical propertes:

Appearance:Milky white liquid

Chemical Type:Organo-silicone emulsion

Active Content (wt%):(30 ± 1)%

Viscosity (at 25℃):2000–4000 mPa·s (cPs)

pH Value (Direct):6.0 – 8.0

Ionic:Non-ionic

Solubility:Dispersible in water

Key Benefits & Features

Effective Foam Control:Provides fast foam reduction and durable foam-control performance.

Suitable for Metalworking Fluid Formulations:Designed for use in cutting fluids, coolant systems and related aqueous formulations.

Low Impact on System Transparency:Designed to minimize the impact of the defoamer on the visual appearance and transparency of suitable systems.

Good Storage and Shear Stability:Provides good stability during storage and under normal circulation and shear conditions.

Low Addition Levels:Effective foam control can be achieved at relatively low addition levels, supporting economical use.

Easy Dispersion:Can be readily dispersed in water-based systems when incorporated under suitable mixing conditions.

Applications

NV-DF9103 is specifically recommended for foam control in metalworking fluid systems:

Semi-synthetic and emulsion-type metalworking cutting fluids

Antifreeze-type cutting fluids and concentrated coolant formulations

High-shear machining circulating fluid loops

Metalworking systems requiring high dilution stability and optical clarity

Application Guide

Recommended Dosage: Typically 1 to 20 ppm based on operating conditions (temperature, agitation rate, and aeration severity). Optimal loading should be verified through laboratory testing.

Incorporation Method: Can be added directly into the foaming system or pre-diluted with water before incorporation. Ensure uniform dispersion upon addition. Pre-diluted emulsion mixtures should be consumed within 4 hours to preserve peak performance.

Synergistic Performance: Depending on specific application environments, NV-DF9103 can be paired with NV-DF9108 for enhanced synergistic foam suppression.

Handling & Precautions

Wear appropriate protective eyewear and gloves during handling.

Ensure adequate local ventilation in operating areas.

Clean up spills immediately using absorbent sand or sawdust to prevent slip hazards.

Keep container tightly closed when not in use. Avoid mixing directly with concentrated strong acids or oxidizers.

Storage:

Packaging: Standard supply in 25 kg plastic pails, 200 kg drums, or 1000 kg IBC totes.

Storage: Store in original unopened containers in a dry, well-ventilated area between 5°C and 40°C (41°F–104°F). Protect from freezing and direct solar radiation.

Shelf Life: 12 months from the date of manufacture under recommended storage conditions.
