Key Benefits & Features

100% active, solvent-free silicone antifoam compound

Good defoaming performance

Good antifoaming performance

Self-emulsifying characteristics

Can be formulated into aqueous silicone antifoam emulsions using commonly available emulsifiers

Suitable for direct dispersion or emulsion-based application

Applicable to pulping, water treatment, textile processing and other industrial aqueous systems

Applications

Pulping & Pulp Processing

NV-DF9504 is suitable for foam control in pulping and pulp processing applications where effective defoaming and antifoaming performance are required.

Typical applications include:

  • Pulping processes
  • Pulp washing
  • Foam control in aqueous pulp-processing streams
  • Preparation of silicone-based antifoam emulsions for pulp and paper applications

Water Treatment

NV-DF9504 can be used for foam control in industrial water-treatment processes and other aqueous systems where persistent foam formation occurs.

The product may be used directly after appropriate dispersion or formulated into an aqueous silicone antifoam emulsion according to the specific process requirements.

Textile Processing & Cotton Dyeing

NV-DF9504 is suitable for foam control in textile processing, including cotton dyeing and related aqueous processing operations.

The product can be formulated into an appropriate aqueous antifoam emulsion to meet specific application and dosing requirements.

Other Industrial Aqueous Processes

NV-DF9504 may also be considered for other industrial aqueous systems where silicone-based defoaming and antifoaming performance is required.

Application trials are recommended to determine compatibility, optimum dosage and the most suitable method of addition.

Application Guide

Direct Addition:

NV-DF9504 can be added directly to a foaming system when appropriate high-speed dispersion equipment is available.

High-speed dispersion should be used to ensure that the silicone compound is adequately distributed throughout the foaming medium.

Reference dosage:

0.01–0.20% based on the total slurry weight, equivalent to approximately 100–2,000 ppm.

The actual dosage depends on the foaming conditions, process configuration and required foam-control performance. The optimum addition point, dosage and method of addition should be determined through application testing.

Preparation of Aqueous Antifoam Emulsion

For many aqueous applications, preparation of an emulsion is recommended.

The following procedure is provided as a reference:

1.Blend NV-DF9504 with a suitable emulsifier and mix until uniform.

2.Heat the mixture to approximately 70°C under continuous stirring.

3.Gradually add deionized water while maintaining adequate mixing.

4.During water addition, control the batch temperature at approximately 45 ± 5°C.

5.After completion of water addition, continue mixing for approximately 10 minutes.

6.Homogenize the resulting mixture using a colloid mill or other suitable homogenization equipment.

7.A reference emulsion viscosity of approximately 500–3,500 mPa·s may be obtained depending on the formulation and processing conditions.

The above procedure is intended as a general reference only. Emulsifier selection, emulsifier concentration, water addition rate, mixing conditions and final emulsion viscosity should be optimized according to the desired application and equipment.

Handling & Precautions

Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged contact with skin. Wear protective gloves and safety goggles during handling.

Ensure adequate ventilation in the operating area.

Clean up spills immediately with absorbent materials to prevent slip hazards.

Do not add strong acids, alkalis, or inorganic salts directly into the neat emulsion container.

Packaging & Storage:

Packaging: Supplied in 25 kg plastic pails, 200 kg drums, or customized containers.

Storage: Store in unopened original packaging in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated area (5℃ to 35℃). Keep away from direct sunlight, open flames, and heat sources. Keep containers tightly closed when not in use. Handle fire hazards using standard petroleum chemical firefighting procedures.

Shelf Life: 12 months from the manufacturing date under recommended storage conditions.
