Product Name:Silicone emulsifier NV-PC821-1

INCI : Lauryl PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone

Chemical Informations:

Main Composition:Lauryl and Branched-Polyether modified polydimethylsiloxane

Chemical Character:

Non-ionic Branched Silicone Surfactant (Lipophilic).A multi-functional branched silicone.

It contains:

Lauryl Groups: For superior compatibility with organic oils/esters.

PEG-9 Branched Chains: For robust water-phase anchoring.

Siloxyethyl Branching: To provide enhanced steric stability and pigment wetting.

Product Description:

NV-PC821-1 is a high-performance, 3rd-generation branched silicone emulsifier specifically designed for sophisticated Water-in-Silicone (W/Si) and Water-in-Oil (W/O) systems. Unlike linear silicone polyethers, its unique branched structure and lauryl modification allow for exceptional emulsification of diverse oil phases, including volatile silicones, mineral oils, and natural esters.

It is particularly renowned for its outstanding powder dispersing capability, making it the premier choice for color cosmetics and sunscreens where uniform pigment distribution and high stability are critical. It enables the creation of low-viscosity, high-stability emulsions with a lightweight, silky, and non-tacky sensory profile.

Typical properties:

Appearance:colorless to light yellow transparent or translucent liquid

Density(25℃) :0.90-0.95

Viscosity(cSt,25℃): 400-800

Refractive index(25℃): 1.4250-1.4350

HLB:3

Key Benefits & Features:

Universal Compatibility: Stable emulsification for both silicone fluids and non-silicone organic esters/oils.

Superior Pigment Wetting: Effectively coats and disperses TiO2, ZnO, and iron oxides, enhancing color intensity and SPF performance.

Cold Processing: Fully functional at room temperature, facilitating energy-efficient manufacturing.

High Efficiency: Provides long-term stability at significantly lower dosages compared to traditional emulsifiers.

Premium After-feel: Imparts a sophisticated, dry-touch silkiness that eliminates the greasiness of oil-heavy formulas.

Applications:

Color Cosmetics: Foundations, BB/CC creams, and concealers requiring high pigment loads.

Sun Care: High-SPF sunscreens and daily UV protection milks.

Skin Care: Elegant W/O moisturizing creams and skin-barrier repair lotions.

Serums: Lightweight, water-dispersed silicone serums with a "water-like" break.

Formulation Guide:

Emulsification: Slowly add the water phase into the oil phase (containing PC821-1) under rapid stirring.

Stability Optimization: Add 0.5%–2.0% Electrolytes (e.g., NaCl) to the water phase to balance osmotic pressure.

Freeze-Thaw Stability: Incorporate Glycerin or Propylene Glycol in the aqueous phase.

Viscosity Control: The system's viscosity can be increased by raising the water phase ratio.

Pre-blending: Always ensure the emulsifier and the oil phase are thoroughly homogenized before adding water.

Recommended dosage:

As Primary Emulsifier: 0.3%–5.0% (Typically optimized at < 2.6%).

As Powder Dispersant: 0.5%–2.0%.

Package and storage:

Packaging: 20kg plastic pail; 180kg metal drum.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place below 25℃ (77℉).

Shelf Life: 24 months from the date of manufacture.
