Discription:

NV-PC502 (PPSSQ) is a silicone resin characterized by a three-dimensional network structure. Unlike conventional rigid silicone resins, the incorporation of propyl groups imparts superior flexibility.

In skincare and color cosmetic formulations, it forms a highly transparent, breathable film with excellent anti-migration properties. It is soluble in D5, low-viscosity silicone oils, and isoparaffins, making it an ideal film-forming agent for long-wear applications with a lightweight sensory profile.

Option 1: Used as the primary film-forming agent in cosmetic formulations (for long-lasting wear and barrier protection).

Function: Provides 24-hour waterproof and sweatproof protection.

Suitable for: long-lasting foundation, non-stick lip glaze, waterproof and sunscreen.

Recommended dosage: based on system requirements, the suggested addition amount is 2–10%.

Option 2: As a film-forming regulator (balancing rigidity and flexibility)

Pain point: Addressing the issue of membrane layers that are too brittle and prone to peeling when using MQ resin (trimethylsiloxy silicate) alone.

Recommendation: Blending PPSSQ with MQ resin at a ratio of 1:3 or 1:5 can significantly enhance the adhesion and crack resistance of the film.

Option 3: Improved Skin Feel (Addresses Stiffness)

Function: Addresses the issues of dryness and false smoothness that occur after drying in high-powder or silicone-based systems.

Suitable for: loose powder, pressed powder, and oil-control primer.

The feel of polypropylsilsesquioxane is somewhere between silicone oil and powder: the propyl chains provide an oil-like smoothness, while the siloxane backbone ensures a dry, non-greasy finish. When used in combination with silicone elastomers, silicone oils, and silicone resin powders, it effectively addresses issues such as stiffness and unnatural slipiness that often arise in high-powder formulations after drying. The goal is to achieve a premium skin feel, flexible long-lasting wear, and a natural, non-slip finish.

Dilution and Handling Instructions:

Since this product is a 100% active, high-viscosity resin with extremely high viscosity, direct weighing poses a significant challenge.

Pre-dilution recommendation: It is strongly recommended to pre-mix the product with a volatile carrier (such as isododecane, D5, or low-viscosity silicone oil) at a weight ratio of 1:1 prior to production, creating a stock solution with a concentration of 50%.

Heating assistance: To accelerate the dissolution rate, the original container or pre-mixed solution can be heated to 40℃- 50℃The viscosity will be significantly reduced, making it easier to stir evenly.

Addition sequence: In the emulsification system, it is recommended to pre-add the diluted PPSSQ to the oil

phase, and after thorough mixing, proceed with the next step.Emulsify.

When stored at room temperature in the original unopened container,the shelf life of this product from the date of manufacture is: 12months.

Be sure to seal the container tightly after use. If silicone resin is exposed to moisture in the air for an extended period, it may undergo self-crosslinking condensation, leading to an abnormal increase in product viscosity or even complete solidification.

Store at room temperature, and avoid prolonged exposure to extremely hot or freezing conditions.

Due to its extremely high viscosity, it is recommended to first pre-mix it with a portion of volatile solvents (such as isododecane) at the initial stage of formulation before adding it.
